Out and about with the family
Wendy and I are back home after taking a month out to visit family and enjoy a change of scenery on the other side of the world.
The highlight of the trip was spending time with our daughters and getting to experience a little of life in their adopted cities of Amsterdam and London. There’s something quite different about visiting a city when you have someone local to show you around, and it was great to spend time together, explore and enjoy everything both cities have to offer.
We also managed to fit in some downtime in Croatia along the way — a chance to slow the pace down, enjoy the warmer weather and recharge before heading home.
Travel is always a good reminder of the value of stepping away from the day-to-day occasionally. Whether you run a business or simply have a busy working life, it can be surprisingly difficult to switch off completely. A little distance gives you time to think, reset and return with some fresh perspective.
After a fantastic break, I’m now back home, refreshed and ready to get stuck into things again.
There is plenty happening across business and finance, and I’m looking forward to catching up with clients, colleagues and the wider network over the coming weeks.
